The Artist

Bryony Dique

About

I am a self taught artist from the South of England, now living in Whistler, Canada.

I have travelled much of the world with nothing but a backpack and a camera. My travels opened my eyes to so many new styles of art and design, and really motivated me to broaden my methods of making my own pieces.

When I moved to Canada I didn’t really know anyone and started to paint animals that were in the local area to pass the time. I also love making art with alcohol inks and drawing. Because it is such an artsy community I have met many local artists and friends who have encouraged me to share my artwork…so here we are!

I have been involved in many local art shows/ exhibitions and look forward to partaking in many more art events in the future. I have recently started selling some prints in local shops and cafes which I’m super excited about (see below), and became a vendor at the Whistler Farmers’ Market in 2023.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my website and for any support you may be able to offer-whether it’s taking an interest in my journey and following on social media, or buying a piece of my work.

Step by Step Process

Time lapse and process photos

I try to document the process of making each painting, whether its through photos of different stages or a timelapse, so I can look back and see how each one develops.

It’s a great tool for me to use to reflect on my work and figure out ways to streamline or adapt the process for the things that don’t quite work as well as they could do. It also helps to see what does work well in terms of technique so I can try to keep doing those things…a digital journal.

I know people find it interesting to see so I will be sharing these with you – I would love to know your thoughts!
